My theories on HL2: Ep3

I think Ep3 will be a remade HL2: Beta. Why? Well, things are really easier to do now, and on the beta we had the Borealis, which, we'll have on Ep3.

The Hydra will be really easier to do with the volumetric particles, they may just do a bunch of sprites, connected, always aiming at enemies. Beta had a bullsquid, and since the Borealis is as old as the Portal Storm, it will probably contain old folks. We barely seen Eli, back in the beta, and now, on Ep3, he's dead. So, that's why I think it will be a remake of the Beta.

Yes i agree with you menter it will be a remake but have you seen the new half-life 2 episode 3 art?
Its borealis infected by the combine in some artic look alike place bounce

I believe that we will learn who gman is and i am not sure with anything else since i say that it will be some kind of remake of borealis.

Beta's borealis had combines, it was a combine sandwich, had stalkers, combine soldiers, and probably synths but we barely see them, it also had wasteland scanners.

Hmmm... that's interesting, I've never played HL2 beta, and I was wondering if I will ever see Hydra in-game. I don't know about that, but wouldn't they already be done if they started making it since they finished doing hl2, and they had all the ideas about it?

I think HL2 Beta was an anunciation of Ep3, Ep3 will be like HL2Beta remade !

Also I think we will see creatures never seen before, like new enemies, and there will be the music ''Path of Borealis'' by Viktor Antonovi...

Can't wait for Ep3 ! Ep3 will be the best game for 10 years ! lol !!

I hope it won't look like that, I hope we find it in the middle of the sea. Because it won't have a high boom factor in the middle of a combine corridor.

I doubt we'll see much of the hydra, even with an improved particle system. In "Raising the Bar" the reason for ditching the hydra in the first place was because of complications in the gameplay.
It would be hard to implement as an adversary because of its style of attack (you'd see the thing lounge out at you and you'd be dead). If we're lucky we might see it as a puzzle or in a short cut with it mangling a few combine Very Happy

Same thing was in HL1, the tentacle: It was strong, one hit would kill you or decrease your HP to 25, if you had a full HEV state. They'll probably do something that looks like that huge Portal that comes out of the citadel in Ep2. It moves correctly, ect. But it will be enemy/player guided, and will stretch itself once it needs to attack.

That would be awesome, man.

No, the reason why there are no young people as in teenagers and down in HL2 is that the field that prevents the reproductive cycle is in effect. The idea of younger humans were scrapped because of that.

Well, who know if we find teenagers that escaped of the combine and they didn't escaped from the headcrabs and now are zombies?
