[BZG] Kenny: What made you want to make Opposing Force 2?
#MenteR: The simple fact that there is no actual team developing a sequel to Opposing Force.
[BZG] Kenny: Mm Hm

[BZG] Kenny: When you first started the mod, how was it?
#MenteR: Bad, but I had permission from many modelers such as Romka, Kathar, Xero, Millenia to use their models.

#MenteR: So when I first announced the mod with some maps and their models we ended up getting many members, 30 wanting to join in the first 15 minutes announced in FP.
[BZG] Kenny: I see.

[BZG] Kenny: Were there any ideas that have been dropped as of now?
#MenteR: Yeah, such as the Hydra-Nade, a new enemy; more weapons, such as Smoke Grenade, which would be useless, and is now replaced by the Incendiary Grenade.
[BZG] Kenny: Hmm Mh
[BZG] Kenny: A lot taken and replaced.

[BZG] Kenny: Opposing Force 2 DeathMatch. will this be released after OF2 or before OF2?
#MenteR: We are still thinking, but we may release it as a demo. But probably after OF2.
[BZG] Kenny: Hmm Mh.

[BZG] Kenny: Do you have any plans for putting the game/mod on the market?
#MenteR: No, it will be totally free, unless VALVe contacts us.

[BZG] Kenny: Did any other mods inspire you to make this mod?
#MenteR: No. Maybe Awakening, but it was probably because of its success.
[BZG] Kenny: I see.

[BZG] Kenny: How far are you into the mod? Like what % would you estimate?
#MenteR: 13%

[BZG] Kenny: Do you have any shortages on any particular group? Like mappers, coders, moderlers, etc?
#MenteR: Maybe yes, we need more coders, our only coder is doing the Barnacle at the moment. We also need mappers, we are done with skinners, and we MAYBE need world (w_) modelers for the weapons.
#MenteR: Coders too, we expect to reproduce every extra weapon as seen in OF for OF2 Deathmatch.

[BZG] Kenny: Speaking of the barnacle, you said earlier in the mod it wasn't going to appear and now it is. What changed your mind?
#MenteR: What changed my mind? Well, monsters aren't going to inovate the game, and what inovated HL2 was the Gravity Gun, which used the physics as an ally. So why not a barnacle? Since there is no G-Gun in OF2, a Barnacle would be the best replacement.
[BZG] Kenny: Clever.

[BZG] Kenny: Which map is your current focus as of now?
#MenteR: C14, the first Chapter.

[BZG] Kenny: Who is working on it?
#MenteR: We didn't start it, we plan our chapters before mapping it.
[BZG] Kenny: Ah
[BZG] Kenny: So its still in planning stage?
#MenteR: Yes
[BZG] Kenny: Ok.

[BZG] Kenny: Do you have any plans for the mod team after OF2?
#MenteR: Yes, OF2 Ep:1, or else, a mod based on Call of Cthulhu.

[BZG] Kenny: Which would you want to do more?
#MenteR: Its hard to choose, but I would say Call of Cthulhu if it's really able to be done.

[BZG] Kenny: Explain more about call of cthulu (the mod, I know about the book)
#MenteR: It would be another Resident-Evil-Like-mod-that-dies-on-15%. The only difference is that it wouldn't die at 15%. You would be a detective investigating cases about a satanist cult, epic storyline.

[BZG] Kenny: So you say theres going to be a helicopter
#MenteR: Yes

[BZG] Kenny: It will be drivable, yes?
#MenteR: Yeah

[BZG] Kenny: Will it be used at the end of the game?
#MenteR: We're not sure when, but we know why.
[BZG] Kenny: Ah

[BZG] Kenny: So, how many current people are on the team?
#MenteR: 19

[BZG] Kenny: When do you expect the barnacle to be done?
#MenteR: Soon, we may even release a tech demo.
[BZG] Kenny: Ah
[BZG] Kenny: That will be exciting

[BZG] Kenny: How is work on Underground Complex going?
#MenteR: Uhm, I wouldn't say bad, but we still need inspiration, I am taking most of the inspiration from Doom 3.
[BZG] Kenny: Hmm Mm

[BZG] Kenny: Sewers, you dont seem to talk about that level much, any light you can shine on it?
#MenteR: Yeah, you will meet Shock Troopers, Pit Drones and many other enemies on it, so we don't expect it to be so long since player will pay attention mostly to the enemies.
[BZG] Kenny: I see.

[BZG] Kenny: The PHX Soldiers, will they fight enemies along side you in the game?
#MenteR: Yes.

[BZG] Kenny: Will they only be using Sniper rifles?
#MenteR: No, they will even use MP5k's.
[BZG] Kenny: I see.

[BZG] Kenny: The weapon line-up right now is PipeWrench, Glock, MP5K, MP5EOD, Shotgun, RPG, Barnacle, frag and incedinary grenade. Any other weapon to add to that list?
#MenteR: Gauss Gun, Spore Grenade, a stronger frag grenade, the Deagle... Well, you forgot many weapons in your list :P
[BZG] Kenny: Lol, whoops.

So many weapons. xDD Well it is worth to read, and yes I can't wait to see what the barnacle gun going to be like. Good luck, guys!

This interview shows many stuff we cleared up/deleted or improved. I am bumping this because many fans would like to know more about our stuff and what did we have in mind when this mod was on its earlier stages.

Spartan isn't in the team anymore, he quit. But I would like to tell him that this interview was probably the best somebody ever asked me before.

Well, there's always new ideas related to the project. And yes, that was one of the best interviews, MenteR. Cool
